Mrs. Emily Franz - Music Teacher

     
​     Emily Franz is the new SPI K-8 Music Teacher and Choral Director. She was born in Billings, MT, and has traveled to many states and 3 different Lutheran Schools while her family was involved in the military.
​     Her family came to Indiana in 2002 through the Seminary, and here she has received a high-level education through the Lutheran Schools, including Concordia Lutheran High School. She attended college at Indiana-Purdue University Ft Wayne (now Purdue Ft Wayne), and received a Bachelor's in Music Education in 2012.
     She married SPI Alum (Josh Franz) in 2011, and they are thrilled to have family continue the educational tradition at SPI! In her spare time, she loves to teach private music lessons (voice, piano, and any instrument), go shopping, visit new places, relax with a good book/movie/TV show, and play with her 3 children.

Exciting things from SPI Music

• We love learning new songs that teach us about Jesus and help us grow in our faith
• We learn a variety of Christian songs with multiple kinds of musical styles and use instruments as well
• We sing songs and play instruments, play singing games, and use other fun activities to help us learn more about music
• We have our own Piano Lab for learning to play piano and compose our own songs
• We perform a Christmas Program and a Spring Musical
